Personal Statement

Hi, my name is Iva Corluka and I am a varsity basketball player for Ardsley High School. I played on the varsity team as an eighth grader, and was a starter my freshman year. I have been playing basketball and soccer since 1st grade and recently I was a starter on the JV lacrosse team, but my love for basketball grew through the years and I started to focus primarily on my basketball game in the 5th grade. It quickly became my goal to play at the college level and have been working on that goal since then. I’m dedicated to the sport and I’m competitive, hard working, and coachable. I put in the work on my basketball skills, as well as strength and conditioning training all year round.


Currently I am an honor roll student with a 3.5 gpa. I continue to work on keeping and improving these grades, even though covid has made it rough. I have volunteered for a lot of CYO activities, as well as community events at the Croatian Cultural Center in New York City.
