Personal Statement

My name is Kyler Wright and I am a starting combo guard for a 6A high school in Oxford, Alabama.  

Some of my current credentials include: 

 I was named as an All-Tournament Player in the Area 13, Class 6a Area Tournaments.  I was recognized as one of the Statistical Leaders in the 2022 Calhoun County Tournament by EAsportstoday.  In December, I played in the Huntsville City Classic, where I competed against top ranked players in the State of Alabama and received an award for the game MVP in our first game.  I was also named as one of the Huntsville City Classic Tournament Standout Players.  iball Radio listed me on the 1st Round Watch List for 2022.  

I am a hard working combo guard who is a team leader and I work to be a team player that my team can count on.  I am a player who goes after every rebound, blocks shots, gets steals, makes assists, instructs the offense and is a scoring threat in every game.  Although I am only the 2nd highest scorer on the team, I strive to be one of the hardest working players on the court in every game.  My high school coach referred to me as the player on our team who could be a Marine, due to my hard work on and off the field.

When I am not at practice or playing a game, I work hard on weights in the gym.  I don't waste my time playing video games but I love to spend time hanging out with friends.  

I am not only a hard worker on the court and in the gym, but I am a hard worker in the classroom.  I have a 3.8 gpa, while taking DE and AP classes through my entire school career.  I was named to the Gifted Program in my early years of school.  I am a member of the Honor Society and I serve as the Class Treasure of my senior class.  I was elected as Class Favorite and Most Likely to Make You Laugh by my peers. I attend Church of the Highlands and I am a community volunteer with the Relay for Life.  

My dream is to play basketball on the collegiate level.  I feel that I would be a good fit for any program and I would be a good contributor  to any team.  I have respect for my coaches and I am a disciplined individual in all aspects of my life.
