Personal Statement
My name is Darien Bryce Castille, I am a Junior at DeRidder High School where I am receiving a general education. I come from a strong family where "giving up" or "quitting" has never been an option. My mom would always say, "son once you start something, you see it through the end. If you never do it again, it's okay, but you never start something and quit in the middle. "She'd go on to say, "We are not quitters." I am a hard worker, who Is determined to use the talents God has blessed me with to help me achieve my dreams. I believe anything worth having is worth the grit, grind, sweat, pain and tears. Whether I am on the football field, track, or basketball court, I always give it my all, knowing every mistake I make, I am also making progress because there is always room for growth. When there's no more time left on the clock, the bright lights go out, the crowd disappears, and it's all said and done, I leave it all there, trusting my God will do the rest. I am humbly grateful for the opportunity I'm given to play the sport I love the most, the game of football. After High School, I do plan to pursue a higher education. My ultimate goal in life is to become a distinguished and respected man, while inspiring and mentoring the next generation of possibilities. My hard work, determination, and perseverance will help me achieve success on a personal and professional level. I am motivated by what I see in the world today, my community, my family, and my desires to be the change I want to see. I believe that if a person is not willing to learn, no one can help; yet, if you want to learn, no one can stop you. I know with the morals and values my parents have instilled in me, my life is full of endless possibilities and my future is bright.
