Personal Statement

Football has been a part of my life since I was able to hold a football. I started playing football, my favorite sport,  at the age of 5. I started playing because my dad found a football team in Clarksville, Tennessee where you could play tackle football at age 5. I played on that team for 6 years and  during these 6 years I tried out for an All Star team named Offense-Defense. I tried out for 2 years and made the team for both years which made me love football even more.  One of the 2 years I made MVP of my age group. The main reason I got MVP that year was because I got moved up with another age group which was 14,15,16 year old players. I was only 9 years old, which I thought was a great accomplishment since they didn’t choose this age to play up most of the time. While playing for these leagues I did get to travel and play with other teams in Florida and Georgia, I loved getting to experience playing with other teams from other places and getting to meet new people.

My academic accomplishments are important to me so I’d like to share a few with you. One thing I am most proud of is winning the citizenship award each year of me being in elementary school. Another accomplishment in 6th grade I had the highest percentage in ELA. This year, my 8th grade year, I had the highest grade in social studies.  Lastly, I have made straight A’s every year except one year and I had one B placing me on the honor roll. I believe strongly that academics come before athletics therefore I work hard to get good grades so I can be my best on the field.

To add more to my accomplishments as an athlete I have always played up (meaning played for high school) a year in my football career. I also received this year in 8th grade honorable mention. Then I made and started the Kentucky Association all star classic. To add another one, I was in 7th grade and I made The Kentucky Future Stars all star, of which I started for that team too. I had intentions to try out for Kentucky Future Stars and Team USA, but I couldn't because of COVID-19. When the opportunity presents itself I will be trying out for them because I feel the more experiences I can give myself the better the football player I will become.
