Personal Statement

I have been playing tackle football since I was 5 years old and I still love the game more than ever.  During my sophomore year the team’s starting running back got injured in the third game, and that’s when I had to step up and take on the responsibilities as the staring running back.  I knew it wasn’t going to be easy and I knew I was going to have to be mentally and physically strong in order not to let the team down.  We went 10-1 and I averaged 10.2 yards per carry and rushed for over 1,300 yards which ranked me 1 and 4 in my school's history for those stats.  That experience taught me that through hard work and desire I can accomplish a lot.

I consider myself a dedicated person to whatever I am doing including academics.  My parents have given me the opportunity to go to a good school and I don’t want to disappoint them.  Since I was 5 years old I have played 3 sports each year, football (always) basketball, baseball and soccer (sometimes).  I think that versatility has contributed to me never missing a game due to injury.  My desire is to attend a good college to study and play football.
