Personal Statement

My favorite place to be is on the court. I have been playing basketball since I was in fourth grade. One of my favorite memories of basketball is in 5th grade when I won a competition to compete at the United Center, home of the Chicago Bulls. That was an amazing feeling to be playing on the same court as Michael Jordan once did. What started as fun with my friends and team has grown into a passion and love that motivates and drives me everyday. I am on the court daily practicing and trying to perfect my skills. It is where I am happiest. 

Playing basketball in college is my focus and goal. I feel I would succeed there not only on the court but academically as well. I am a member of the National Honor Society and was also chosen by my teachers to be a member of our schools leadership committee my freshman and sophomore years. In the classroom and on the court I am a leader and role model to others. I am very motivated to succeed. I am driven and disciplined and always open to my coaches and teachers constructive feedback. I have very good study habits and always stay in contact with my teachers if I need help. 

My future college aspirations are to play college basketball and to set the foundation to start a career in business. I look forward to meeting new coaches,  building relationships with them and my teammates, competing at a high level, and creating memories that I will remember forever.
