Personal Statement

My name is Nikita Kartsev and I am a senior at Abraham Lincoln High School in San Francisco, California (class of 2023).  I am 17 years old, 6'4" (still growing), 185lbs Small Forward.  Basketball is my passion.  I love the pace and the competitiveness of the game.  In addition to my AAU experience of over 5 years, I played on my middle school's basketball team as a starter all 3 years (Presidio Middle School, San Francisco, CA). As a high school freshman, I played on my school's Jr. Varsity Team as a starter.  My team won the San Francisco Unified School District Championship for the 2019-2020 season.  During my sophomore year, I was selected to be on my school's Varsity Team and that's where I am currently playing.  Our basketball Varsity program is year-round and we play in various tournaments during the school year as well as the summer break. My team won the San Francisco Unified School District Championship during the 2022 and 2023 seasons.  We also advanced to California state regional semifinals.

My goal is to continue playing basketball competitively in college at the highest level.  I am a very hard worker and a team player.   I am also a strong student with a current GPA of 3.66.   I'm looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically.
