Personal Statement
I am currently a Junior at Winston Churchill High School in Potomac, Maryland. I’ve been playing travel baseball since 10u, currently with the BCC Prospects 17u. I am 6’0” and weigh 180 pounds. I throw right-handed and bat right-handed. My throwing velocity across the diamond is 83mph and my top pulldown is 85 mph. My goal is to attend an academically challenging college and compete in collegiate baseball at the highest level possible. My academic interests are broad at this point, so I don’t want to go to a college with a limited focus. I enjoy history, political science, and computer programming. I currently have a 3.75 unweighted GPA (4.42 weighted GPA), and my official transcript is included on this NCSA site so that potential schools can do their own calculations.
Although baseball is my passion, I also enjoy hobbies such as helping out others and golf in my free time. I enjoy working with other students at school; for the past two years, I have been on the student/teacher/parent Counseling and Advisory Committee and have volunteered with the Best Buddies program at my school. The Best Buddies program promotes friendship and guidance to special-needs students at my school and I really enjoy being a part of this program.
In the fall of 2019, I played on my high school Varsity baseball team and while attending a Future Starz showcase event was told to get “bigger and stronger.” Our high school baseball season was canceled this spring, and I used the COVID down-period to get incorporate a daily workout routine. I have gotten much stronger and added a lot of muscle as I am now 180 pounds after being a mere 165 at the time of the Future Starz showcase. I should also point out that I am young for my grade- DOB: July 27th, 2004.
I’m currently going to various showcase events with my team and also on my own to learn more about various school and baseball programs. I plan to explore collegiate opportunities this fall and winter by attending college camps. It would be ideal to find schools and coaches who dovetail with my baseball skills and academic interests.
