Personal Statement
My family and my friends have influenced every aspect of me. My friends are a big part of my life and I would do anything for them. They are constantly putting a smile on my face and making me cry tears of laughter. My family is also a big part of my life. My family is always pushing me to be the best that I can be, academically and athletically. Both parents work very hard to create a safe household, provide everything (and more), and always support me with love. I am eternally grateful for my friends and family.
I started playing volleyball in 2012. I started playing on a recreational team and instantly fell in love. Ever since my first recreational season, I have played on a school team and club team. In middle school, I was on the 7th and 8th grade team. My freshman year, I was starting libero on junior varsity. My sophomore year, I was starting libero on junior varsity and an alternate player on varsity. And this past school season, I was starting libero on varsity. My two years on junior varsity I achieved the best defensive player. And in the past season on varsity, I achieved MVP, 2nd team All Conference, and 1st team All Region. Through the past 6 years of volleyball, I have achieved a lot and continue to fall in love with the sport every time I step on the court. While playing, I have learned a lot. One major lesson that I have learned is that being a starter isn't everything. I used to think that being a starter meant that you were truly influential to the team. But this year I have learned that even if you start on the bench, you are still influential to the team. When on the sidelines, your team still needs you. Your team needs you to be the loudest cheerer, suggest open spots, and more. This has been the most important lesson that I have learned when playing volleyball. I am very thankful for finding a sport that has helped me make new friends, enjoy the thrill of every point, and truly love.
My academic goal for high school are to succeed. I want to succeed to make my parents, friends, and teachers proud. I want to graduate ready for college and ready to start my new life. My academic goal for college would also be to succeed. I want to meet new people and get good grades. I would also like to explore a new community and experience a new place.
