Personal Statement
Athletics has always been a very important part of my life. I have been playing sports for as long as I can remember. Whether it be football, basketball, baseball, soccer, or swimming, I have always been an athlete. I believe that my biggest asset as a student athlete is my work ethic and coachability. I strongly believe that nobody is above the team and that for any team to succeed, everybody needs to be on the same page and willing to put the work in to achieve the results they desire. I am a hard worker who is willing to do anything to ensure the team’s success. Another strong aspect of me as a student athlete is my dedication to academic excellence. I am an honors student who consistently makes the honor roll. Last year I even managed to earn Straight A’s for the third quarter. My goal for my senior year is to earn Straight A’s all four quarters. I believe that academics is very important because while the game of football may provide an opportunity for me to be able to afford college, at the end of the day it won’t pay my bills. I plan on continuing my academic success in college, and maintaining a high GPA. Football has taught me a lot of life lessons that I could not have learned anywhere else. It has taught me the importance of hard work and dedication, and how to be an effective member of a team. As a player, I have good size, standing at 6”5’ tall and weighing 295 pounds. I pride myself in sound technique and fundamentals, and study film of myself and others who excel at my position in hopes to be the best player I can be.
