Personal Statement

Having grown up in a small town where everybody knows everybody,  I have been raised with  a great since of pride and brotherhood from a young age. Football is not simply a sport in my hometown, it is a lifestyle. I was born into that lifestyle and have embrace it to the point of it becoming my passion. I stepped between the lines for the first time when I was 4 years old, Already weighing too much to run the ball, I began as a lineman, and learned early on I was made for the game after setting our little league record for the most sacks in a season.  

It was around the age of 12 when passion developed into drive and ambition when I began to realize my ability to read plays better than most. My coaches were constantly commenting on my intellectual game and my coach-ability.  I am honored to say this continues to this day. I became a leader and natural motivator amongst my teammates.  They became my family and I am driven to safeguard the bond between us.  Loyalty is my strength as well as strong leadership and compassion.

I have been raised in church and understand the importance of respect. My parents have encouraged me to give back and to make time to be grateful in my giving. I have strong integrity and I humbly stand up for what I believe. Therefore, I am a believer in Christ and firm in my faith.

I enjoy school and the continuous opportunity to build knowledge. I thrive on a strong mind and education. I am an honors student and a member of the A.W.S.U.M. Club at my school. We volunteer in local community service projects and hold fundraisers for our school and town throughout the year. 

As a college athlete I will continue to grow and make these attributes stronger.  The power of a positive mind is unstoppable!  Just as having violent hands, a strong work ethic, and exploding off the ball are vital in my position on the line. My attributes are vital to my growth as a person.  I have quick feet and a quick mind which allow me to be adaptable to learning different offenses or playing against new defensive strategies.
