Personal Statement
I am a hard worker, on and off the field, with a lot of grit and will do anything to succeed in football. I am hoping to play for a team with a coach who sees my unique abilities as a player, as I am open to guidance to be my best for my team. I have spent a lot of my free time to help the quarterback on my team be a better and more confident player and person. I've found the best way to do that is to be present, be genuine and to always give my all, to do what is best for the team and fellow players and friends.
I moved from Brooklyn, NY two years ago. In Brooklyn, my grades got me into my top choice high school, Erasmus HS: Star Academy, where I was to play football for Erasmus HS. The expense of NY became too much for my family, so we landed here in NJ. I am still working hard to gain proper respect in my school community and my football community. Growing up in Flatbush Brooklyn, a place with great diversity, allowed me to be open to all people. It has not been easy being new here, but I keep my chin up, excel in school, stay positive, and work on my football. My chance will come. Last spring, I made Nasir Gaines' 7on7 team in Newark, NJ. We were about to travel to VA for a tournament and to see colleges like Howard along the way. Due to the pandemic, everything was cancelled. I am really looking forward to getting back on the field with Nas and my teammates. It was a great experience.
I'm keeping the grades up, too...honors and AP! I turned 16 in July and I'm probably 6'6" as of today. The gyms closed because of covid and the price of weights went up to too expensive. I found someone who makes weights for a lot less money, so I'm gradually adding on to my set and lifting more as they come in. I'm considering creating a business selling his weights. I think there is probably a market for them, particularly right now. Working hard. Looking forward to what comes next!
