Personal Statement

My name is Colton Burch.  This coming Junior year I'll be the starting Quarterback for a 6A team in Texas, I'm also a Forward in varsity basketball as well as run track.  I have been playing organized sports since elementary school.   When I was 10 years old, I started playing YAFL and have been playing  in pads every year since.  In 7th grade the coaches placed me as Quarterback because of my speed and accuracy.    I have been receiving private coaching by past QB players and coaches over these past  few years, as well as attending many QB camps.  I've gained something from all of these sessions.  The best way to describe my type of playing is a Hybrid QB - both effective in passing and running the ball.   I keep a level head and push when we need to or redirect when the  play didn't go as planned.   Many times  I’ve been able to convert to 1st downs even when a play has fallen apart!  I'm constantly getting better physically, mentally and sharpening my QB abilities.  I really love everything about football and would love to get a degree where I can continue to work with players either through coaching, training or recruiting.  I'd like the opportunity to play for a university that can benefit from my skills and I can help them win a conference or even a National Title!
