Personal Statement
Growing up in a sports loving household I learned early to be competitive and to always strive to be the best, my goal has always been to make it to the next level and play. My Mom, Grandpa, and Brother have influenced and pushed me to become who I am today; they have helped me in all aspects of life including all sports and in school. In fact, I became interested in football by watching my older brother. He was good, and I wanted to be better. After watching him play in high school, it made me want to play even more.
I learned through sports that I am a vocal leader and I am not afraid to tell someone to get focused or whatever it is that they need to hear. I love being the one that people listen to and follow, and I am the first one to step up to compete in every drill. In many games, the student sections have been determined to get in my head, which is an obstacle I have learned to overcome weekly. I possess a leadership mentally, I know what has to be done to win. I have a great work ethic- I am in the gym everyday after school doing another lift or skill training. I have a never quit attitude no matter what the case, I'm going to try to make the person in front of me remember who I was at the end of the game.
At first, in highschool my goals were to make all A's and B's. As I did that, I knew I could do better in the classroom, so I pushed myself and started making all A's with just a few B's. My goal in college is to graduate with a degree, which only my mom has done in my family, I want to be able to do that along with playing sports full-time.
