Personal Statement
My name is Aidan Sakata. As a junior at Windermere Preparatory School in
Windermere, Florida, I have a 4.2 weighted GPA. Furthermore, I am ranked in the top
15% of my class. I am a three-sport athlete. I am 6’0” 200 pound MLB/RB. I would
describe myself as having a high initiative and a dedicated, fast learner. Through
football, I have learned that I can persevere through challenges and that disappointment
is used as inspiration to work harder and improve my technique. During this offseason I
focus on developing and fine-tuning my skills, increasing my strength and times, and
improving my speed and accuracy at the line of scrimmage and tackling.
I am a competitive student-athlete in high school and aspire to continue this on the
college level. I am committed to football and work throughout the year to better myself in
this sport. I have run cross country and track to improve endurance and speed and
throw the shot put to improve stamina and strength. In addition to physical strength and
persistence, I also challenge myself academically by taking the most difficult courses at
Windermere Prep. Moreover, during the summers, I have continued to push myself by
taking academically arduous courses through the Duke Tip program as well as in
biomedical engineering, which is my goal major in college. Lastly, I am grounded in my
morals and ethics as evidenced by my continuing to serve as an altar server in church
and completing my Eagle Scout in Boy Scouts. I have been dedicated to Boy Scouts
since first grade. This dedication to service is important in football as I also volunteer
with any community activities related to football, such as a game with children with
special needs. I am a football player who is committed to the game as well as
academics and my community.
