Personal Statement

I want to be the hardest-working person in the gym; that's the type of player I am. I'm not afraid to get down on the floor and scrap for a loose ball; I love playing tough defense, both on and off the ball, and I am constantly putting the extra work in. Basketball is my passion and I am willing to do what it takes to succeed. 

I've been playing since kindergarten and started AAU in 5th grade, continuing to play year-round since then. I am the top girls cross country runner at my school; however, I run in order to build my endurance for basketball and I play nearly every minute of my high school games. 

I've been a varsity starter since my freshman year, being named one of the top 60 freshmen in New Jersey (NJ.com) in 2021 and then top 100 sophomores in New Jersey (NJ.com)  in 2022 and was first team all conference both years. I am very coachable and I am constantly trying to find ways to improve my game. I love to watch film and find things that I can do better on or opportunities I missed, and then get to the gym to improve on these things. Through this sport, I have learned to push myself past obstacles in order to reach my goal. 

I am a combo guard, playing whichever position the team needs. For my high school team, I play mostly the 1 or 2 position, however for my AAU team I mostly play the 2 or 3. I am known best for my speed and my tough defense and will usually be guarding the other team's best player. 

Academically, I am just the same as I am athletically, constantly pushing myself to be the best I can be. I am a straight-A student, achieving high honor roll since the start of high school. In college I am still trying to decide what I would like to study; however, I am leaning toward sports journalism or interior design. In college I am looking to push myself both athletically and academically.
