Personal Statement

Thank you for spending a few moments to learn more about me.

My name is Brett Nutting. I have two brothers and two sisters and currently live in Lakeland, Florida. 

I am the youngest in my family and remember watching my brother’s football games at Lakeland High School and later Wittenberg College. Both programs have a long tradition of excellence and it was a fun environment to experience.   

I currently play OLB for Lakeland. I started a bit late in the sport as I was undersized but thankfully grew and have wasted little time in catching up.  

I believe in excellence and I want to create my own legacy. I do believe that leadership through example is not only important but essential in a team environment. 

Academically, I have an interest in aeronautical engineering as both my grandfathers were involved in aviation. 

I have worked hard to put myself in the best possible position to be accepted into a college and program that will allow me to pursue both a future in football and a future career in engineering. My grades are excellent as I believe is my work ethic and commitment to success. 

I hope this brief introduction will lead to further dialogue with you and members of your program.
