Personal Statement

My goals and aspirations as a high school basketball player are to be able to play college basketball and get a degree. Whatever school I am blessed to go to I aspire to help impact the team to make a winning team by playing whatever role that will best help the team to achieve success. As a player I have a high IQ of the game and can facilitate for the team. I also have a mid-range game and can create my own shot with my ball handling skills. I just finished up my junior year and playing a prep schedule around the country, against D1 level talent has drastically improved my game. Our team also had several games against junior colleges and NAIA schools throughout the season. All of those games and experiences has definitely prepared me for the transition to college.  Other qualities that separate me from other players is I have a 4.0 GPA and am disciplined in and out of the classroom to always get work done. Living in Arizona I have to sacrifice going out in 110 degree weather in order to continue to work and develop my game. As a person I am very dedicated to whatever I am doing and whoever I am doing it for. I always put others and my teammates before myself to help them be successful. I also play the game and live in a way to honor the Lord with the gift He gave me. I come from a hard working family with a strong Hispanic culture and work ethic. Applying that work ethic and using the gifts God has blessed me with has definitely made me college ready. I look forward to my senior year and look forward to achieving my goal of playing college basketball.
