Personal Statement

Growing up as an only child and having the experiences that I have had, I believe that it has shaped me into a well-rounded, respectful, determined, focused, kind, and caring individual. Another large influence in my life was my move to China, I lived there for 3 years and it was a very good experience for me. I lived there because my dad worked for an aerospace company. When I came back to Canada, I played for multiple teams. Most of these teams had top coaches that helped me get to where I am today. I started playing soccer when I was 4 years old, but I really got interested when I was 7. This was when I saw my first ever live game. Manchester City playing against Sunderland in Hong Kong. After that I knew that I wanted to be a top-level soccer player. While playing soccer I think that I have learned a lot about myself.  I think that I learned that I am very passionate, focused, determined, and that I have great leadership and problem-solving skills.

When it comes to academics in high school I have a few goals that I would like to achieve. Some of these goals are being in the honor roll, getting an 85+ in all subjects, being valedictorian and getting the math or science award. The next point I would like to talk about is what obstacles I have had to overcome to get to where I am today. The biggest obstacle I have had to deal with is moving from city to city and team to team, fighting for a spot on each one. Multiple top-level teams OASL and OPDL and playing a year up. As a striker that can score with both feet, I possess a lethal desire to score goals and contribute to my teams success. If I am not in the position to score a goal, I am always looking to assist my teammates. I spent 2 weeks training at professional soccer teams in Spain and 3 weeks training with professional teams in Germany, I now have some attributes of those styles of play. I am confident that I can contribute as a top student athlete at your school. I am confident that whatever I put my mind to, I can achieve success. I am confident that I can contribute to the success of your schools program.
