Personal Statement

I am the son of an educator and former football coach.  My family has taught me the value of hard work, being a team player, the importance of leadership, and the value of education.  My goal is to earn an academic or athletic scholarship to college to help me further my education and grow as a person.

I believe I would be an asset to any college football program because I understand the commitment which comes along with teamwork and the sacrifice that come along with leadership.  The lessons that I got from my family helped me out during this past football season as a freshman. Even though my dad was a football coach, football was not my first love. I played basketball since I was in the 3rd grade, and decided to finally try football as an 8th grader, and it was more fun than I expected. So, I decided to try out for the football team at Bishop Hartley as a freshman.  My goal was to at least dress varsity, but after just 2 freshman games I was promoted to the varsity team. By seasons end I was a starter and was awarded second team all-conference as a defensive end. I will stay humble and hungry and strive to improve every year to reach my goals.
