Personal Statement

My name is Makayla Tarasiewicz, #24. I am an honors student attending Andrew High School in Tinley Park, IL and plan to graduate in 2022. I am proud to be playing for the Chicago Cheetahs as a dedicated and hard-working pitcher and 1st baseman.

It is my desire and passion to pursue softball at the next level. Softball has already offered me so many amazing opportunities and has connected me with fantastic coaches and players who I look up to as role models. My ultimate goal is to play softball in college, however, I am not overly concerned of the division level. I just want to be on the field with a team. I am willing to put forth whatever it takes to become the best softball player I’m capable of being. While academics are the most essential element of college, I believe being part of a team is crucial as it creates life long bonds, teamwork, and character. I work hard academically by taking honors classes because I truly believe that the only way to get better at something is by challenging and pushing yourself to the limit. This is why I find softball so appealing. Softball is not an easy game, if it was…everybody would play it!
