Personal Statement

After graduating high school I would like to either go to college or join the military.  I am looking at the military option as a way to get both job training and a way to pay for a college education thru the GI Bill.   I haven’t yet selected a career path, so I am researching all my options in regards to colleges/Jr colleges, etc.

As a Life Scout, I am currently serving as the Senior Patrol Leader for my troop and am working on the final requirements to earn me Eagle Scout ranking.   I enjoy participating in high adventure activities with the scouts and so far I have canoed the Boundary Waters on the Canadian border, bicycled from Pittsburgh to DC, hiked the Appalachian Trail, and this past summer, I spent 11 days hiking over 50 miles in the back country of Philmont Scout Reservation in New Mexico.

In the off-season, I am working hard in the gym to increase my strength and am also joining the Track and Field team to increase my overall fitness level.
