Personal Statement

My first memory of football was when I was around 4 years old.  I remember watching football games with great grandmother on Sundays.  That was year I got my first football for Christmas.  I was always throwing the ball with my dad and asked if I could play football.  When I was 5, I started playing and fell in love with the game.  My coaches would always say that I had a natural God-given talent for the sport, which made me want to get better and play even more.  While watching a UT game I really liked Ricky Williams and that is when I started watching other running backs.  My dad had me watching people like Walter Peyton and Bo Jackson because of their running style and technique.  My goal is to play football in college and possibly beyond.  In college, I want to study Biomedical Engineering because I am intrigued with how the human body functions and how it can be improved through electronics and artificial measures. I remember thinking that I want to make an artificial leg one day once I heard that my god-mothers husband lost his leg when he was sick.  My greatest inspiration was my late great grandfather.  He always encouraged me, helped me practice and wanted me to be the best I could be, on and off the field. I am a good candidate for any team because I am a coach-able player and always willing to make work for my team. I am a team player and I have an excellent work ethic and the desire to continue learning so I can become a better player.
