Personal Statement
I consider myself to be very versatile, as I have played WR (slot and outside receiver) and QB on offense, Corner and Safety on Defense, and have played on every special team including returning punts and kickoffs. I have also been able to compete and contribute at the Varsity level in basketball and track, making me one of the only 3-sport lettermen at my high school last year.
I also am proud to say I put my team first and bring a positive attitude to every game and every practice. This year my team ran the football on almost 90% of our plays, so my targets per game were limited by that. The positive side of that was one of my best friends rushed for over 2,000 yards this season. I took pride in blocking for him and celebrated with him when he made long runs, especially when I had the last block to get him to the end zone! My teams run-dominated play-calling resulted in pass plays only being called on 2nd or 3rd and long, in 2-minute drill situations, or when we were losing late in games. But I stayed focused and ready so that whenever my opportunities came I could make the most of them! When my team did pass the ball I was the go-to receiver, with more catches than the next 3 receivers combined.
My goal is to continue my family legacy by playing football at the next level. If I do it would make me the 3rd generation of Wallace men to play football in college, including my grandfather, 2 great uncles, my dad and his 2 brothers. I am hoping that physically I will develop similarly to how my dad did in college - he went from 158 lbs. as a high school senior to 196 lbs. as a college senior and his 40 time went from 4.64 to 4.44. The prospect of getting bigger, faster and stronger and playing in a system where I would have the opportunity to contribute a lot more than I did in high school is my dream!
