Personal Statement

I am mostly interested in playing at a division 2 or 3 school, mostly because I want to focus on my academics. As much as softball has always been a huge part of my life and always will be, I am more excited for my future and being able to work on it. I am incredibly excited for college because I want to major in Phsycology, preferably forensic. It has always been a dream of mine to work in that field, and hopefully I will be able to get my PhD and possibly one day teach about my findings in that field. As for softball goes, I work very hard to be where I am today and to be able to play harder. I spend multiple days a week working out, hitting, and practicing, and it shows. However, I stay very lighthearted and fun while playing the game. I love playing softball, so all the time and effort I put into it off the field is incredibly worth it once I step onto the field. I want to play softball in college because I don't want all of my years of hard work and dedication to end yet. I've always played above my age level because I love the competition. I decide to play up but it's never to be the best on the team but to be able to learn from the experience that players older than me have. I know this game inside and out, but no matter how much I think I know, there will always be people that know even just a little bit more than me, and I love that. I love being surrounded by people I love, while playing the sport I love, and learning from mine as well as others mistakes. I take softball very seriously off the field, but on the field, I always know that it's just a game. I never get upset or angry at myself for mistakes that I make, instead I learn from them and become a better player because of them. I love softball because it's not only such an amazing and fun sport but because you're forced to spend countless hours with people who become your best friends, and softball relationships are just different from anything else. Not to sound egotistical, but when I'm playing softball, I am a very fun person to be around and have been told that I lighten the mood of every team. I just think that it shouldn't be taken too seriously, there's always a line between fun and serious. When I'm on a team, I try to make the line even because honestly life's too short. Anyways, I'm hoping this statement allowed you to see a bit of who I am and possibly think of me as a good candidate for your team.
