Personal Statement
Field hockey has been part of my life since I was 7 years old. I started to play competitively in the highest German field hockey youth league when I was 10. Later, I was selected for the German U13/U14 team (Region West).
In the summer of 2018, I moved to San Diego. First, I played for Torrey Pines High School and was a varsity starter as a freshman. I then joined my club RUSH elite performance group.
The field hockey highlight of my first year in the U.S. was when I got selected for the Stars & Stripes team as well as the Junior National Camp at the 2019 National Futures Championship in Pennsylvania.
I love being on a team because we celebrate victories and learn from defeats together. I met some of my best friends through field hockey and my four sisters all have played field hockey since they were young. Field hockey has made me more confident and has motivated me to challenge myself in life. Gaining experiences with coaches and players from different countries improved my intercultural skills and made me the field hockey player I am now.
My goal is to play field hockey at a D1 college after high school to continue my field hockey career because field hockey helps me to grow as an athlete and a person and I just love to play it.
