Personal Statement
As an athlete and a student, I have a strong work ethic. I believe that anything worth doing is worth over doing. That's what I keep in mind when it comes to my classes, my sports, and my teammates. I manage my time and resources well and can balance my responsibilities to my teachers, coaches, and parents well. I set goals for myself and work to achieve them. What I might lack in natural talent, I am able make up for in being a coachable athlete.
Being a part of a team is important to me. I tend to care about others more than most of my peers. I want to succeed, but I know that it is important to help everyone on the team be successful. I do what is right, not what is popular. My classmates, teammates, coaches and teachers know this about me, and I believe this one of the reasons that I am seen as a leader. Lots of people say that I am very quiet. I have found that I can learn more by listening, instead of talking. I prefer for my actions to speak for me.
I love football and am a student of the game. I want to play football as long as I can. I also know that I need to have lifelong sports in my life and be a well-rounded athlete. So, I also am involved in power lifting, golf, baseball and track.
