Personal Statement
I started recreational sports at the age of six. I have played baseball, soccer, and flag football. In middle school, I started playing for my school teams in cross country, flag football, wrestling, and track and field. In middle school, I set new school records in cross country and track and field. Going into high school, I have decided to focus on football, and track and field. As a freshman, I was recognized as the Most Valuable Offensive Player on the freshman football team. In track and field, I won four league titles and broke the freshmen school record in the 300m hurdles.
I find it more rewarding to be part of a team and know that my efforts will benefit the team. I strive to lead by example of always giving 100% in practice or in competition. I make a point to encourage all my teammates. I was honored to be selected as one of the team captains for my JV football team.
As a student-athlete, my academics are my first priority. However, I also make practicing and conditioning a top priority year-round.
Outside of academics and sports, I am actively involved in Boy Scouts of America. My goal is to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. As a boy scout, I have served in several leadership positions. My time as a scout has also given me the opportunity to give back to my community through many service projects.
I am interested in pursuing a career in the medical field. I interviewed and was selected for my high school Health Academy. This opportunity will allow me to explore different options within the medical field before I graduate from high school.
