Personal Statement
- What are your main motivations for playing football?
- I’m in love with the game but it’s also another route into college.
- What do you most enjoy about football?
- I enjoy learning and mastering new things. I also thrive off the energy of competition.
- What have been your major highlights/achievements in football?
- Multiple game winning interceptions! I led my school in interceptions my sophomore year and had the second most interceptions in my school my junior year.
- What are your long range goals in football?
- To go to college and play at an elite level, graduate and eventually become one of the greats in the NFL.
- What are some of your medium/short term goals?
- Continue to improve academically and boost my GPA.
- To earn a starting position my senior year. I’m determined to prove that my skill overpowers my size.
- A South Carolina State Championship for Fort Dorchester High School!
- Graduate High School with an athletic scholarship
- How do you expect a coach can help you achieve these goals?
- I’ve been fortunate to work with a great coaching staff at Fort Dorchester. I believe a coach can expand my understanding of the intricacies of the game and help keep me focused.
- What do you feel are your main strengths?
- I am a born leader that has been selected as a Team Leader by coaches and peers.
- I’m also a Defensive Back with Wide Receiver hands and instinctive ball awareness.
- What areas do you feel that you need improvement in?
- Strength training to increase my size
- Learning to split reps at Safety and Corner Back as part of a DB rotation.
- Do you currently do any training for athletics? If yes, provide details.
- Yes; Winter, Spring, and Summer workouts (weightlifting, 7v7, and regular practice)
- Have you ever had a personal athletics coach before?
- No, but I would like to work with one.
- What do you like about training?
- The rush of pushing myself even when I’m tired and I feel as if I can’t do any more.
- What do you dislike about training?
- The repetition and feeling as if I push myself extremely hard without immediate noticeable improvements. This is where I feel a personal athletics coach could help.
- Other than what you answered at Question 6, what other expectations do you have of a coach?
- To care and know that a team is a brotherhood and he’s the parent that brings us together as a whole. Without a coach the team wouldn’t succeed and he has to understand and accept that role
- Finally, what would be a successful 2019 football season for you?
- Winning a Championship! I expect nothing less from any team I play on. I don’t want to contribute to mediocrity. I want to grind along with my teammates in the pursuit of greatness!
