Personal Statement
My name is Grayson butler and I’m from Wichita Falls, Texas and play linebacker for Rider High School. Athletics has always been a major part of my life from the time I could walk. I was a state-ranked tennis player for a majority of my childhood and fell in love with football after my middle school coach recruited me to play. The moment I put on the shoulder pads and clipped in my helmet I fell in love with the game. It’s always been my dream to play college football and pursue a career in it. This past year my mom passed away due to brain cancer and it was devastating. However, she always used to tell me to follow my dreams and do what makes me happy. So I fought through the adversity and used it as fuel in my journey. I would love to be able to see her someday and talk to her about the bowl games and show her the championship rings. I would love to play in college not only for my own satisfaction, but for my family and friends who have pushed me and helped me through my life. This past year we went to the semi finals of the playoffs, but got beat by Aledo to end our 10-3 season. Although this was an unfortunate end of the season not only for me, but for the seniors we played so hard for. We plan on making a even better playoff run this year. Go Raiders!
