Personal Statement
I started playing tackle football when I was in second grade. There were a lot of obstacles for me to over come along the way, as I always dreamed of becoming a running back. My statue as a young kid did not fit the profile for a typical running back, so I was often chosen for multiple positions. I spent a lot of years playing as a linesman, as well as linebacker. Finally, a coach came along and said that I was physically looking more like a running back. That’s when my journey began at trying to excel as a running back. I feel that the opportunities playing multiple positions helped me grow as an over all athlete. I am now able to play my desired position, but can also successfully play other positions when needed due to my history of playing different ones.
I have learned to become a leader on field as well as off field. I help my team mates reach their goals and encourage them whenever possible. My dreams at playing football are also impacted by my love for certain players that I watch on television. I am hoping to couple my athletic abilities with a solid education that would allow me to pursue athletics further in life. I hope to someday be able to make a difference in future athletes lives just as some of my coaches and peers have done for me. I also have much appreciation for my parents as they allow me these opportunities to grow and succeed.
I have stepped out of my comfort zone a few times playing other sports. I helped lead a team to the championship in basketball in 1016, as well as a state championship for 7-7 in 2018 with some of my present teammates . I also enjoy playing the guitar as well as bike riding. Track is an important way for me to grow as a football player as well as learn more about self discipline. I am looking forward to my recruitment future and experiences.
