Personal Statement

My participation in sports throughout my life has taught me to be healthy, committed and a team player. Not only has sports kept me healthy physically, but it is especially important to my all around well being.  Sports has helped keep me focused and structured, and it has has taught me how to manage my time better and and keeps me accountable to my teammates, my teachers, my faith and family.

Once I began high school, I narrowed down my activities to wrestling and football, and the offseason training that comes with both of those physically and emotionally demanding sports. The wrestling schedule quite often requires morning and afternoon practices, as well as weekend workouts. As a wrestler, only you know if you truly gave your all. In football, your teammates depend on each other, and everyone must work together to achieve the ultimate goal. 

Because sports has played such an important role in my development, I would like to continue my career by playing in college.  I believe that I am  a high-character, team oriented player who puts winning and team above personal goals.  I also believe that having that team first, selfless attitude, helps me in other aspects of my life and makes me a better all around person and teammate.
