Personal Statement
My name is Brooke Vandehey, and I am a part of the class of 2021 at Banks High School in Banks, Oregon. I am currently playing softball on the 18A fast pitch softball team, Aloha Breeze and on varsity at Banks High School in Banks, Oregon. I am truly dedicated to the sport and have spent many hours a week committing to the game I love.
Having the possibility to play softball in college makes me even more passionate about this sport. What I can offer to a team is dedication and commitment to all practices, as well as a promise to always give 110% and never give up. I also view myself as a great leader and a quick learner. I take criticism very well, no matter who it comes from, and I respect everyone, on and off the field.
When looking for colleges, I would prefer to stay somewhat close to home. I am mainly looking at west coast states (Oregon, Washington, Idaho, etc.) but I am open to attending midwest states as well. To me, the size of the school does not matter; in the end, I hope to find a school that fits me best and offers a good education level as well as a good softball program. My top two choices for a major as of right now is either Middle School or High School Education or Psychology. However, this may change over the rest of my high school career.
I do well in school. I take many honors classes and have a GPA of 3.857. I am also ranked 20 out of 107. I try hard in all of my classes and participate as much as possible.
My realistic athletic goals are to continue playing softball at a high competition level and encouraging others to play. I want to make an impact on my team, coaches, family, and little girls that love the same sport I do. I would be extremely grateful if I knew at the end of the day, I tried my best and made a difference in someone's life.
