I chose to go through the running back drills at this camp and I was evaluated by Coach Hughes from Dunbar High School. He noted that I had great hands and speed, but I could work on my leverage some. He also added that I have great potential to be a great running back someday

Personal Statement

My name is Jordan Young. I am a running back coming from the small school of William Campbell High School in Naruna, Virginia. I have started on the varsity football team for 4 years. My freshmen and sophomore year were mainly playing defense where I played a little bit of linebacker and safety. However, I had a passion to play running back and I finally got my chance coming into my Junior year. I played running back, safety, outside linebacker, and started on all special teams. As a running back, I rushed for 1129 yards and 11 touchdowns on 90 carriers and by the end of my senior year, I racked up a total of 2600 rushing yards and 33 touchdowns along with 525 receiving yards and 11 receiving touchdowns. I was really close to setting a school record my senior year. I finished one game with 400 yards and 7 touchdowns, putting my one touchdown off of the record, but putting my name in the record books.

On the academic side, I have been taking all of my classes at Central Virginia Community College since my Junior year. I had a rocky start to these classes, but I was able to get back on my feet in the summer by taking extra summer courses. It was not a fun experience at all, but it taught me how to handle college level classes better in the future. It was all worth it because I will be able to graduate high school with an advanced diploma as well as my associates degree.
