Personal Statement
I started playing tackle football in the 7th Grade and it was a rough start. Although I think I spent the better part of my first year getting the snot kicked out of me, it never deterred me or changed my mind about one thing...I loved playing football. Finding that motivated me to push myself to become better every year I played, every practice I went to, every play I played. When my 8th grade season started, I went from being on the second team to a starter on the Varsity team in TCYFL. I was one of the hardest hitters on the team and one of the strongest, which made me realize that I only get out what I put in. Once high school started I began to weight train and condition year round. I started for both the freshman and sophomore teams. The hard work paid off my junior year when I started on Varsity at right guard and played on highly ranked 8a team. We went 8-1 and looked to make a run at the state title but got suprisingly knocked out the first round. Since my freshman year I've know that I wanted to play college ball. I know I can't run a 4.2 40, but I also know that I will outwork anybody in the gym or on the field. While in college I plan to pursue a degree in criminal justice, and perhaps even look to obtain a Masters. Football will always be a part of my life and I'm sure I'll be coaching one day in some capacity, but ultimately I want to work in Federal Law Enforcement.
