Personal Statement
I started to play football in 4th/5th grade, and have loved it from the very start. I've worked hard to get where I am today, and I am so thankful for all the lessons I have learned through all the sports I am involved in and especially in the game of football. I have always wanted to play collegiate football and am willing to work hard to do so. I feel I am very coachable and I've been told that by previous coaches and adult role models that have worked with me throughout my years. I am very willing to change as needed to to get better.
Football is not my only interest, as I am involved in baseball and wrestling. I love to play baseball - I pitch and play 1st base as I am left handed and it's a great fit for me. I am also very active in wrestling and have participated in youth AAU since JK. I was a state qualifier freshman year and our team placed 3rd at state this same year. My goal as a sophomore is to return to state competition individually and to help our team to return and become state champs!. Regardless of sports, I believe it's important to be a team player and support your teammates.
One of the most important things to me is my family and my academics. I work just as hard in the classroom as I do out on the field or in the weight room, and pride myself in maintaining a good GPA. I also help out in my community and serve at my church.
I would also like to participate on a team that is not only about winning, but is like a team of brothers and having each other's backs. My goal is to become a person that people can look up to and to be an inspiration to kids who have the same dream as me to one day be a collegiate athlete.
As a sophomore starting varsity on DL and now OL has made me grow and mature and learn so much more about the game of Football. As a freshman my grade point was a 3.6 and I want to continue to improve in this area by putting extra time in the classroom and work hard in keeping my grades up. I have many different interest for a focus when it comes to my future studies. I feel I have time to make this decision as I am only a sophomore with lots of opportunities ahead of me.
