Personal Statement
Hi my name is Marcos Flores, I am currently in my junior year and will be graduating the year 2020 from West Valley High School. I started playing flag football at the age of 8, tackle at the age of 10 and have been playing ever since. As a Freshman I played Quarterback and Linebacker for the freshman team. My Sophomore and Junior year I was a starter for the varsity team as an Outside linebacker. Along with football I also play varsity baseball, but I have an undeniable passion for football. I thrive for the competition and the team building, also leadership skills that will be great attributes for my future career.
My dream is to play football at the collegiate level possibly beyond, also follow my goal to become a firefighter to help others and serve my community. Along with keeping up with my studies and sports I have been in the Fire Explorer program for the city of Hemet for 3 years now, which has taught me a lot about accountability and being responsible for others and my own actions, playing sports has kept me physically fit for my fire training. As a student-athlete it has taught me to be committed to school and sports, also I realize the sacrifice my parents and family have made for me to play in such a competitive sport. As a two sport athlete, sports has taught me to set goals for myself and ultimately I will get there with my hard work, drive, and determination.
