Personal Statement
My name is Will Skinner and I attend St. John’s School in Houston, Texas and I am in the class of 2020. Over the next 5 years my goals are to both further my education and play football at the highest possible level. Although my physical attributes may not jump off the page, I am confident that I have the athletic and intellectual tools necessary to be a valuable asset to a team. In every facet of my life, I strive to be the best I can be while positively representing my team, coaches and my school.
As a recruit, I feel that the description of “athlete” would best define my position. Having played considerable time at the Varsity and Club 7v7 level on both sides of the ball, I feel confident in my ability to contribute in versatile ways. Currently, I am a starting wide receiver, running back, and kick returner. When targeted, my elusiveness, agility, and ability to consistently create big plays makes me a game-changer. Additionally, I am willing to compete off of the ball by blocking as well as running clean routes in order to help draw away the defense’s attention from the play. Of note, during our first game of the year our senior quarterback tore his ACL. Unfortunately, this has drastically reduced the number of times I get targeted during a game thus reducing game footage.
My results in combine testing, game stats, and performances in other sports support this statement. I compete in the 100/200/4x100/4x400 in track. As a freshman and sophomore I competed at the prestigious Texas Relays and won the Southwest Preparatory Conference Championship this past Spring. As a Sophomore my 100m, 200m, and 400m times were 11.4, 23.2, and 52.5 seconds respectively. It is my goal to break 11 seconds this upcoming season in the 100m. In addition, I am an SPC champion and Prep National Qualifier in wrestling. Below I will attach a link to my HUDL profile as well as my NCSA profile and my head coach’s email.
