Personal Statement

My name is Sophia Shaw, I am a junior at Lakeland High School in White Lake Michigan.  My plan after graduation is to attend college and pursue a degree in Sports Medicine/Physical Therapy.  I have been very fortunate to be able to play the game of softball since I was 6 years old.  Currently playing at the varsity level in High School where I was nominated "All Conference - Honorable Mention" as a sophmore.  I also play for Turnin2 - McClain Premier 16U, my travel team.

My current focus is to find a college that I can continue to play the game I love, softball.  I'm constantly challenging myself which makes me a better athelete.  During my almost 3 years in High School, I have played 3 years of Varsity Golf, 1 year of Track and Field, in which I letter as a freshman in the Shot Put (#1 shot puter on the team).  Played 1 year of basketball (leading scorer and leading rebounder) on the freshman team.  2 years of Boardercross earning "Runner up - All State" in our region my sophmore year.  And of course 2 years of making Varsity softball.  I keep this heavy schedule, and still maintain good grades.
