Personal Statement

The most inspirational people in my life are my mother and father. They are the people who push me to be the person that I am. They continue to push me every single day to be the best student that I can be, the best athlete that I can be, and the best person that I can be.

My interest in the sport of football came from both parents. My dad played college football and my mom is very much into athletics. I have played tackle football since 2nd grade. My dad has coached my teams during my youth football years and my high school freshman year. Every Saturday our family sits down to watch college football for most of the day. It’s an exciting time of year for our household. We love the sport of football.

Football has taught me everything I know about life. It has taught me how to be a good teammate, to be happy for other’s success, how to pick up teammates when they are down. Football has taught me how to be a humble winner and how to lose with dignity. Football has taught me that preparation is important, the value of communication, and that it takes a lot of effort to be a good player. It has taught me that no matter your size there are ways to impact a game.

My goals are always to be the best student that I can be, to make my parents proud of me. I want to learn as much as I can to prepare me for college. I want to follow in my parents footsteps by becoming a college graduate and become a successful person in life.

I am well aware that I have to earn my success in life. In my sporting life I have never had opportunities handed to me. I had to go and earn them. I am ok with that.

The characteristics that will help me be successful in sports and in my life are my listening skills, I am very coachable, and I am a versatile player and person. I am the player that coaches have used at multiple positions and was able to perform at each.

I can bring to your team and your college the passion for sports, the knowledge by being a coach’s kid, unselfish play and dedication to working hard.

Sincerely,

Keon Johnson
