Personal Statement

My current collegiate goal is to attend and graduate from a high academic university pursuing a degree in either engineering, mathematics, computer science or the medical field. As a rising senior, I am currently still a three sport athlete (football, baseball and basketball; lettering in each). I lettered and started as a sophomore and junior on the 2018 and 2019 varsity football teams; playing (starting) on both sides of the ball and on all special teams during the 2019 season; with many games playing well over 100 plays. I have always been an extremely hard worker and have balanced my academics and athletics very well; maintaining consistent straight A’s throughout my academic career. This while taking high level (Honors and AP) coursework, and playing or practicing one sport or another year round. There is no off season with several months each year I’m having to balance all three sports, either practicing, playing, or attending camps/combines at the same time.

Every team I have ever been a part of from my early recreational teams through varsity high school teams, I have excelled and been told by many coaches how very coachable and how very smart a player I am. In addition, how good a teammate I am, always putting the team before myself, whether it’s changing positions or whatever else may be in the best interest of the team; in order for the team to be successful. I have a strong faith in God and Gods plan and always try to put him first and let him lead my life in all aspects.

I was ranked in the top 6% of my sophomore class in academics (my current High School does not currently rank their students), maintaining a nearly 5.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) during my entire High School academic career; while scoring a 26 on the ACT in February of 2020; which puts me in the top percentages nationwide. I have won numerous academic awards for my success in the classroom and athletic awards for my performance on the field; and for displaying high character and maintaining a positive attitude, which means more to me than any of my on the field accomplishments. I know that I could have a positive influence and impact on any team that would give me an opportunity and I greatly look forward to extending my academic and athletic career beyond high school, at the next level. It would truly be a blessing and honor and one that I would never take for granted nor take lightly. Thank you greatly for your time and for your consideration!
