WORCESTER, Mass. — Jordan Benoit ran for 112 yards and two touchdowns as Hamden Hall defeated No. 1-ranked Proctor Academy in the Wayne Sanborn Bowl Friday night. The victory gave the Hornets a second-consecutive NEPSAC Class C championship title.
CBS Sports Quote: "Jordan Benoit is unassuming outside of competition. But on the field, and in taekwondo, he's an absolute presence. That's why he is the Marine's Athlete of the Month."

Personal Statement

Going to the Junior Olympics for Taekwondo in 2011 when I was 9 years old, is one of my many life changing experiences. I have done Martial Arts, specifically Taekwondo, for 12 years now and the whole process has helped shape my life dramatically. When I started Taekwondo as only a 4 year old, right off the bat I was taught that Courtesy, Respect, Integrity, Self-Control, Perseverance and Determination is what helps you become a well-rounded person and achieve great things in life. What started out being a silly slogan I repeated only because I had to, developed into the way I would then live the rest of my life.

I was fortunate enough to grow up being taught by great Taekwondo masters who have all impacted my life in many ways. My Martial Arts has become a part of me and I am proud it has helped to shape me as a person, because I would not be who I am today without it. The vigorous training for tournaments and just staying in shape was a huge athletic benefit for me when it came to being fit, as well as balancing my newly developing muscle with things such as flexibility, balance and hip mobility. I was also blessed enough to experience things such as defeat, in the sense that it is not possible to win everything you do, but to learn from those experiences and to remember the sadness or pain of losing and let it motivate you and drive your efforts further than before. To always test your limits and never be afraid to reach for new heights. Allowing you to build great characteristics about yourself, as well as gain a never die attitude. I have been pushing myself my entire life to test and see how great I can become. When my focus switched to football, Taekwondo played an important role in my physicality. Taekwondo is why I am dedicated to play football at the college level!
