Personal Statement

Hi, my name is Taylor Meyers.  I am a 17 year old softball player from Glendale, Arizona.  I'm currently a Junior at Mountain Ridge High School (D6) with a cumulative GPA of 3.44. I made Varsity as a Freshman and earned the Varsity Golden Glove with a 1.000 fielding percentage.  

My goal is to continue my academic and athletic career in college.  I am very interested in forensics/criminology/business. 

As far as softball goes I started playing coach pitch when I was 6.  After dabbling in other sports like volleyball and football, softball was the passion. Started playing club in 8U and have been playing ever since.  I am currently part of the best softball organization in Arizona the AZ Hotshots. I played for Steve Captain in 16U and Jimmy Gutierrez 18U Gold team where I was starting at CF and batting lead off.  I just recently made Gary Davis’ 18U Gold team which is the Premier Hotshots 18U team. What you will get with me is a very competitive, coachable team player.  I will do whatever is asked of me and put my fullest effort into it.  I can play any outfield position and 2nd base.  My biggest strength is my speed and base running. I run a 2.7 from home to first with a high base running IQ. I have a really good bunt as well and have been working at my slapping with my private hitting coach BJ with SFS Athlete Training.  I switched to the left side about two years ago and I am so happy I made the switch. It was a struggle at first because my results were not there but I worked hard and it has all come together like I knew it would.

I believe I would make a great addition to any team.  I can hit for power, slap, bounce slap, bunt, etc.  I get along with almost every type of personality out there.  I am very hardworking but also laid back since I love to have fun on the field and play loose. I have always been the fastest girl on all of my club teams. I love to compete and win and am continuously working everyday to get better.
