Personal Statement

My name is Donavan Smith and I am a Sr. at Tulare High School.  Currently, I am a running back and defensive linemen for the Tulare Tribe football team.  I have been playing football since I was 8 years old and have always enjoyed playing the game.  I have dreamed of playing football at the college level and possibly in the NFL most of my life.  

My goal is to attend a college where I can obtain a business degree with emphasis in marketing.  I am also interested in criminology and psychology. 

I am a great candidate for any football team because of my character, commitment, drive and integrity.  I am a hard worker.  I am  a dedicated team player,  and believe it takes a team mindset to win games, not an individual one. 

The difference between me an other recruits is, I always put my teammates before myself.  I am a leader, an encourager, and I prided myself on being a person of my word, and a leader by example.  

How I see the world is different than most athletes.  I see every failure as an opportunity to learn and every obstacle as a steppingstone to growth.  I am teachable and eager to learn and become excellent in my craft.

I work hard in my family, and my community. I look for opportunities to give back.  I work hard in the classroom, the weight room , and on the field.   I know hard work  and dedication are keys to my success in whatever I decide to do.
