Personal Statement

During my middle school years I played field hockey recreationally along with basketball and track and field. Over time  I preferred field hockey and became serious about advancing my field hockey skills when I joined the Charlotte Ambush club during my sophomore year in high school. Although I got a late start in competitive field hockey compared to many of my club teammates I feel that I have advanced and progressed significantly and am a very competitive player. 

I have been a 3 year varsity starter on my high school team and this year was named team captain, was selected second team all conference and participated in the North Carolina East/West All Star Game.  I also played on the Charlotte Ambush U16 Select Indoor and Outdoor teams the past year.

I know I have much room for improvement and continue to work hard on my skills.  My strengths are my speed, aggressiveness and passing skills   . The area I need to work on the most is improving my stick skills.  I am confident I will continue to see significant improvement in my field hockey skills  

I am a solid A/B student and am taking 3 AP courses this year. My favorite classes are Psychology, Art and English. I will be taking my ACT and SAT in early 2019.
