Personal Statement
As I consider why I will use sports or athletics to go to college, I think of what my parents went through to reach their goals. They are my inspiration in everything I do. The values of hard work and commitment are key attributes that drive me. My parents have always involved me in team sports to build relationships and a commitment to succeed for someone other than just myself.
I work harder than most guys because I know talent will only get me so far. I have dreams of playing college ball, and I have to put in more work that just school practice to get it done. I even asked the varsity coach my freshman year if I could practice with them and run the scout offense to get more work in. I was basically practicing two times a day and getting work in with varsity level players. I am not afraid to work hard.
I feel that I will have to remain at the top of my class in grades and maintain my A average if I want to keep playing sports in high school and in college. My goal is to graduate college and earn a degree to set me up for a successful future. This is why I feel I can use my athletic abilities to help pay for school my parents may not be able to afford.
