Personal Statement

Speed is my game! My job is to get on base by whatever means necessary, so that I can be a spark for my team’s offense. I am a slapper and I’m comfortable in my role as a table setter. I love the challenge of reading the defense and then doing exactly the opposite of what they think I’m going to do! My name is Alex Vitola. I’m a student at Ocean City High School in New Jersey, class of 2019. I’ve been playing softball for as long as I can remember and I’ve been playing competitive travel softball since age 11. I’m a converted lefty slapper with a 20 yard dash time of about 2.8 seconds. I’ve been the starting 2nd baseman on my high school varsity softball team since my freshman year and I am currently the starting shortstop for the South Jersey Mystics Gold-Dorman 18u. Softball is my passion, but I also enjoy fishing, working out, and spending time with my family and friends. I’m a three year honor roll student, president of the Interact Club, treasurer for the Student Environmental Association, and a member of the National Honor Society.
