Personal Statement

In the past two years, I have grown and learned more than I thought I could have learned in my life so far. Going to a challenging school and making choices that put my academic and athletic aspiration on hold has not only been heart breaking but also rewarding at the same time. Through my setbacks I have learned to be patient, make positive impacts daily not only in athletics but in the classroom and in my community. I want to go to college, play football and make my family proud of me. I have come to learn that everything I do and don’t do, not only affects me, it affects everyone around me.

My goals now are to strive for the best and my aspiration is to ultimately be the best. One of my priorities now is to attain a scholarship able to go to college without the financial burden on my parents. I want to be a successful college athlete that performs above standards.  I want to attain a college degree in marketing so one day I can work for an NFL team in marketing and advertising.

I am the best candidate for any team because I socialize well with all my teammates, I am a team leader, and coaches use me as example for grades, character and how to perform various skills. I work hard in practice and at weight training. I also, go early and stay late to get in extra work. I am dedicated and coachable.

What makes me different from other recruits is that I have good manners, I am respectful to everyone. I tend to be more relaxed in tense situations than my peers. I am serious about the task at hand and can be focused in chaos. I am versatile, by that I mean coaches put me in various positions because they know I will get the job done. In the classroom I am a great student. I finish my work on time sometimes early and I am eager to improve on my academic scores. I am active in the classroom by participating, speaking up when answers are needed and a leader in group work. My family has high expectations and I am expected to rise to those expectations.
