Personal Statement
I am proud to be the son of a NCAA Division I All-American and an Army Ranger. They have taught me how to set goals and how to work hard to achieve them. My passion for football is only surpassed by my commitment to academics. I enjoy helping make those around me better in the classroom, on the field, and in my community.
I have been a consistent top academic performer at Columbus High School, Northside and now Carrollton HS in Carrollton, GA. In middle school, I scored in the 99th percentile in math and science nationally. As a member of the Duke University's Talent Identification Program (Duke TIP), I scored a 19 on the ACT as a seventh grader, and an 1160 on the SAT as an 8th grader. I have already improved my ACT score by scoring a 22 on the exam in the winter of 2018, and I plan on retaking the SAT this winter.
I am a multi-sport athlete at my school, competing in Varsity Football and Track and Field as a freshman. This year, I played several valuable minutes on special teams, wide receiver and safety. I am currently ranked second in Georgia AAAA Pole Vault and sixth in the state regardless of class, and I anchor the Varsity 4x100m and 4x400m relays.
Sophomore year I was the #1 sophomore and # 2 overall pole vaulter in the state; setting a school record that was held for 20yrs. I was also the region and sectional champ, 5a state runner and winner of the whole states Meet of Champions.
Due to my dad being in the military I have traveled a lot and without growing up in a program; I didn’t get a lot of action last year on the football field but as you can see with what I have proven in track they know I have something to offer. Junior year will be amazing.
