Personal Statement
There are many people who have influenced me in my life. My mom has been a huge influence in my life being a strong single mother to me and my two younger siblings. My grandfather has been a major influence in my life as well stepping up as a father figure for me ever since my biological father walked out of my life at the age of one.
I became interested in football at the age of four. My mom signed me up for flag football at four and I never stopped playing the game. I have had some really good coaches throughout my pop warner year with Lakewood pop warner. This sport helped me stay active and gave me a place to build relationships with friends and coaches that have created a lifetime bond.
Through playing football, I have learned a lot. I have learned that my size will not stop me. Yes, I stand 5’ 4” but I have never let my size stop me. I have always had to prove myself because of being on the shorter side but my love for the game and my drive to succeed has always shown coaches that I will never stop.
I have goals for high school of getting my diploma and moving into the college life and achieving my engineering degree and playing college football.
There have been may obstacles in my life that could have stopped me from reaching for my dreams of one day playing in the NFL. My biological father walk out on me at the age of one. I have watched my mom struggle as a single mom. Many people have told me that I should just give up on football because I stand 5’ 4” and I have dyslexia which all could have pushed me to go down the wrong path. I have chosen to keep fighting for my dream of playing football with the love and support of my family. My mom has always been there cheering me on pushing me to keep fighting for what I want.
Some of the Unique characteristics and skills I possess are:
I am quick on the field
I am a patient runner (read holes / plays)
I am a leader on the field
I’m complimented on being polite and respectful at all times
I will never give up on any player or game.
My collegiate goal is to go to a school that will help me be a better athlete and better student. I would be good at any school because I work hard in the class and on the field and I am a good leader. I am different from the other recruits because I am a very hard worker, I love to compete, and I am a great leader and captain.
